12-year-old Sethu (name changed) is an active 7th grade student in Vellore. Sethu’s father is a daily wage shamiana worker (sets up and dismantles large tents for events like weddings and public gatherings) and his mother works as a housekeeping staff. Sethu developed a dull ache in his ear. He was forced to skip school because of severe headache, ear pain and hearing loss.

At CMC’s Low-Cost Effective Care Unit (LCECU) he was diagnosed with chronic Otitis Media — a middle ear infection. A Tympanoplasty would repair and restore proper ear function. However, his family could not afford ₹50,000 for this surgery. The LCECU team stepped in to help. They put together 75% of the funds needed for his surgery –Sethu’s family raised rest.
The surgery was successfully done by CMC’s ENT Department. It not only healed his ear, it whispered hope and unlocked Sethu’s full potential. He is free from pain and back in school, a smiling, confident child.
You can tune in to the need of patients like Sethu. A gift of ₹15,000 can make a tremendous difference to a deserving family today. Contributed by the Low-Cost Effective Care Unit (LCECU
