Common diseases can cause children to go into acute kidney failure. These diseases include Dengue fever, Rickettial infection and other severe infections including Sepsis with shock.
These children need dialysis in the Paediatric ICU. The best way for this to be given, when the child is on ventilator support, is by Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. For a while we did not have a machine for this. The machine costs Rs.12 lakhs.

With your support we were able to procure the CRRT machine. This can save the lives of children with inborn metabolic disorders, liver and heart failure. Children with complications from Leukaemia and bone marrow transplantation can also be helped.
