Emergency Fund: Care for Children in Need

Naveen (name changed) is a landless agricultural labourer from a village in the Jawadhi Hills. Having dropped out of school at a young age, he now works as a migrant labourer, determined to give his children the education he never had. His eldest son attends a government school.

Tragically, the nine-year-old came into contact with a live wire and sustained electrical burns. Timely first-aid saved his life, but after the wounds healed, he was left with post-burn contractures that restricted hand movement and affected his ability to manage daily activities.

CMC’s Community Health team conducts monthly mobile clinics in Naveen’s village. They immediately reached out to our Hand Surgeons. Naveen and his family travelled 3 hours by bus to reach CMC’s Town campus and the child’s specialised surgery has been scheduled next week.

CMC’s Emergency Fund ensures that treatment like this is not delayed for families with limited means. This Christmas season, over 200 generous friends supported 40 families like Naveen’s. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them and invite you to help many more in need.
