Deepika (name changed) was raised by her grandmother, a daily-wage labourer. Having lost her both parents to illness, Deepika dreamed of becoming a nurse. Her grandmother did not have the resources to support this dream. Well-wishers stepped in and Deepika joined the Diploma Nursing programme at the College of Nursing, CMC Vellore. Due to her financial struggles, she was awarded a Nursing Scholarship.
Today, Deepika is a highly motivated and hardworking student. She is now completing her training and preparing for a life of service.
Studying at CMC Vellore is a dream come true,” says Deepika. “I hope to become a compassionate nurse, continue my education and care for my grandmother who sacrificed so much for me.”
