CMC’s Emergency Fund is powered entirely by the generosity of friends like you. Each year, nearly 600 donors help 200 deserving patients admitted in CMC’s General Wards. These patients come to Vellore from across India, contributing whatever they can toward their care. The Emergency Fund bridges the gap, allowing doctors to begin treatment immediately—without delay or worry over costs.
Palani (name changed) lost his job as a cook due to illness. His wife works as a sweeper in a school to support the family. Palani was admitted at CMC’s Low-Cost Unit (LCECU) with breathlessness and fluid in his lungs. Our Department of Pulmonary Medicine diagnosed cancer and he is currently receiving lifesaving medical treatment.
On average, the Emergency Fund supports about ₹70,000 per patient, though the need is closer to ₹1 lakh. This Joy of Giving Week, you can bridge this gap. Every gift, big or small, brings healing and hope to a patient in need at CMC Vellore.
