CMC Vellore is immensely blessed with a compassionate brigade of over 4,600 dedicated nurses serving our patients. Nearly 700 student nurses are undergoing training at CMC – they are the heart of tomorrow’s healthcare.
Leena (name changed) is a resilient young nurse. Both her parents passed away when she was a child. Her grandmother, a daily-wage labourer, brought up Leena and her younger brother. Leena’s childhood was turbulent, but she survived with strength and courage. When Leena joined the General Nursing and Midwifery programme at CMC’s College of Nursing, her financial support system was very thin. Nursing Scholarships supported her three years of education.
Today Leena is a staff nurse serving patients in CMC’s wards. She is extremely grateful for her Nursing Scholarship. “I have received the best education and clinical experience at CMC Vellore, and also experienced friendship and fellowship during cultural programmes and sports activities which helped me grow,” she says. She dreams of studying further in nursing and supporting her brother’s education
