Nurses are the heart of healthcare. Today, on International Nurses Day, join us and celebrate our dedicated Nurses at CMC Vellore.
Chintamani was born into a poor and disadvantaged family. She was enrolled in The Hope House, Vellore, a children’s home that changed her life forever. Her mentors and teachers inspired her to study well and help others. Against all odds, she scored high marks in School and was admitted into the College of Nursing at CMC Vellore. You must study well, win awards and help the poor and needy,” her mother told her.
During her student days, Chintamani secured South India 2nd rank and won many prizes in various nursing subjects. “All these would have just been a dream if not for the financial support that I received from my College!!” Chintamani says.
Today, Chintamani works as a nurse in the Emergency Operating Rooms at CMC. She has never regretted choosing nursing as a career. She feels blessed to watch patients recover. She is inspired by the care and compassion of her nurse leaders, the way their observations and insights are trusted by the medical team in patient care decisions. Chintamani says, “Apart from gaining my experience, I see lives being transformed – both for the patients and for the nurses. This motivates me to study higher and transform lives.”
