Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in India. Quantum leaps in the field of cancer treatment has given hope to patients even with advanced cancer. The Christian Medical College, Vellore stands in the forefront of excellence in cancer treatment. Unfortunately, many curative options fall out of the financial reach of many of our patients. It is heartbreaking to see many children and young patients with cancer visiting CMC Vellore with hope of a cure. While we are able to subsidise treatment cost for most of our patients, we dream to help everyone and give them hope by providing financial assistance for potentially curative treatment.
There are thousands of people from all over India who come for treatment of Cancer in CMC. Many of them sell their land, belongings just so they can afford treatment for their loved ones. The support we have from donors and well-wishers around the world helps CMC subsidise treatment costs for patients who struggle financially.
Your donations to the Cancer Relief Fund will help a patient that requires financial assistance for treatment. When a department identifies a patient who needs support, they can approach the Development Office. Based on the decision of a selected board of members, funds will be alloted to the patient. Preference will be given for patients who will need a one time intervention and has a good outcome after the treatment.
